According to the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church, the Administrative Council is the group that "shall provide for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in the local church. It shall also provide for the administration of its organization and temporal life. It shall envision, plan, implement, and annually evaluate the mission and ministry of the church."
The Council's membership includes the chairpersons of all of our ministry teams, members at large, the church's 'lay leader,' and the pastors. Our ministry teams include: Adult Education, Capital Improvement, Children and Youth, Endowment, Finance, Lay Leadership, Missions, Outreach, Pastoral Care, Staff Parish Relations Committee, Stewardship, Technology and Media, Trustees, and Worship. Each team's chairperson is a member of the Administrative Council. In addition, there are several 'members at large.' The council plans and implements the church's program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in addition to being responsible for how the church is organized in its operation.
