Disasters Happen. Prepare Now. Learn How.
September 2018 is National Preparedness Month (NPM), and with summer coming to an end now is the perfect time to think about being prepared in case a disaster or emergency comes roaring into your path. First United Methodist Church will be starting up the Disaster Preparedness Workshops for the 2018 – 2019 year, with eight (8) workshops planned to help you become prepared to weather any disaster that may befall the area whether it is an end of season hurricane (like Sandy), winter storm with ice and snow crippling the area, flooding (we have definitely had the rain), or simply a house fire. We all need to be prepared for our family, our community, and most importantly for ourselves. No one should have to be left with nothing and no idea what they need to do when an emergency happens. It is important for our physical well being, and our mental well being, to be ready should a disaster or emergency happens to us personally or our community.

Tuesday, September 11, 2018 (yes 9/11, just how the schedule fell) beginning at 7:00 pm in Reeves Hall, the first Disaster Preparedness Workshop will be held covering preparedness planning with an overarching theme of Disasters Happen, Prepare Now, Learn How. Which in fact is the title of this year’s National Preparedness Month. Come out and learn how you can take charge of your own safety and preparedness with simple acts of preparedness. So mark your calendars now and set your alarm on your smart phone, plan to join in helping yourself to be PREPARED. If you have any questions please contact Dominick Urso via email (djurso2@aol.com) or by calling and 856-777-0099. You may also call
